National Eligibility Test (NET) Examination by Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (Indian Council of Agricultural Research)
Purpose
NET is a qualifying examination for determining eligibility for Lecturer / Assistant Professor in the State Agricultural Universities (SAUs) and other Agricultural Universities (AUs). Candidates clearing the National Eligibility Test will be eligible for Lecturers or Assistant Professors in the SAUs/AUs. NET Certificates will be issued to the candidates by the ASRB to the qualified candidates to enable them to apply against vacancies to be notified or advertised by the State Agricultural Universities. SAUs/AUs will consider their eligibility through interview or any such other tests as devised for recruitment of Lecturers or Assistant Professors.
Eligibility Criteria
A candidate must have a Master's Degree or equivalent in the concerned subject with specialization completed on or before date specified in the notification. A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years. There is no upper age limit for the National Eligibility Test. Further details in the notification on

Exam pattern
NET examination shall have only one paper of 150 marks consisting of 150 objective type questions and each question will have four options (a) (b) (c) & (d) to be solved in 2 hours with answers to be marked on an OMR sheet. 1/3rd mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. The standard of question paper will broadly be that of a Master's degree of an Indian University.
Only five (5) attempts at the NET examination will be allowed for all the candidates (whether MSc's / PhD) including the in-service candidates of ICAR. This restriction will not apply to SC/ST candidates, who are otherwise eligible.

National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (UG) by the Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi.
Purpose
Admission to MBBS/BDS courses in India in Medical/ Dental Colleges run with the approval of Medical Council of India/ Dental Council of India under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt of India.
Eligibility Criteria
Indian national and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) who has completed 17 years of age as on December 31 of the year of admission. Upper age limit for candidates seeking admission under 15% All India quota seats in medical/ dental colleges run by the Union of India, State Govts, Municipal and other local authorities in India except in the state of Andhra Pradesh and J & K is 25 years as on December 31 of the year of the entrance exam.
Candidates must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/ Biotechnology at the qualifying exam (SC/ST/OBC candidates require 40% marks).Further details of relaxation in the notification at

Exam pattern
NEET shall consist of one paper three hour paper comprising 180 questions (objective type) with four options and single correct answer from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology). Syllabus for the exam in a separate Appendix in the Information Brochure.
Language
All candidates can opt for Question Paper either in English or in Hindi.
Candidates seeking admission under 15% All India quota seats and in AFMC should appear in the examination either in English or Hindi only.
Candidates who have passed/appearing their class XII or equivalent qualifying examination from the State Boards of Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal and seeking admission in the institutions located in the State concerned under State Quota seats only can opt for Question Paper in their respective Regional Language i.e. Telugu, Assamese, Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil and Bengali.
Candidates seeking admission under State Quota seats of more than one State should appear in the examination either in English or Hindi only.
Candidates opting for English would be provided Test Booklet in English only and the candidates opting for other languages would be provided Test Booklet in
English with translation in the language as per choice of the candidate.
Candidates opting for Question Paper in Regional languages should choose Centre Cities within the geographical limit of the State concerned.
NDA and Naval Academy Examination by the Union Public Service Commission

Purpose
Admission to the Army, Navy and Air Force wings of the NDA and for the Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC). The candidates joining Indian Naval Academy would undergo 4 years B Tech Course and would also be given an opportunity to join Executive and Technical Branches of the Navy subject to availability of vacancies.
Eligibility Criteria
Only unmarried male candidates between 16 ½ to 19 years as on first day of the month in which course is due to commence are eligible
For Army wing of National Defence Academy if they have are 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent
For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and for the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy if they are 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics
Exam pattern
There will be two papers in the written examination, each of two and a half (2 ½) hours. Mathematics paper is of 300 marks while the General Ability test carries 600 marks. The papers in all subjects will have objective type questions only. The syllabus of the exam is given on www.upsc.gov.in. The General Ability has one section (Part A) on English (Maximum Marks 200) with questions designed to test the candidate's understanding of English and workman like use of words. The syllabus covers various aspects of Grammar and usage, vocabulary, comprehension and cohesion in extended text to test the candidate's proficiency in English; and Part B is on General Knowledge (400 marks) and will broadly cover the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, General Science, History, Freedom Movement, etc, Geography and Current Events. There will be negative marking for wrong answers in the exam (one-third of the marks assigned to the question will be deducted).
Joint Entrance Examination (Main) will be conducted by the JEE Apex Board (JAB), JEE (Main) Secretariat, Central Board of Secondary Education, PS-1-2, Institutional Area, Patparganj, Delhi-110092.
Note: AIEEE will be known as JEE (Main) and IIT –JEE will be known as JEE (Advanced).
Purpose
Admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programmes in NITs, IIITs, and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTI), etc.
Admission to Undergraduate Engineering programmes at NITs, IITs, CFTIs, institutions funded by several participating State Governments and several other institutions shall include the performance in the JEE (Main).
JEE (Main) will also be an eligibility test for JEE (Advanced) which the candidates has to take if she/he is aspiring for admission to the undergraduate programmes offered by the IITs.
For admission to NITs, CFTIs like the IIITs, and other participating institutions, the merit /rank list shall be prepared based on 40% weightage to school Boards marks in class 12th or equivalent exam and 60% weightage to JEE (Main). The weightage to school Board/ equivalent exam marks shall be considered only after normalization
Exam pattern
JEE (Main) 2013 will be conducted in two separate modes- Offline (pen and paper based examination) mode and Online (Computer Based Examination) mode.
Paper 2 of JEE (Main) will be conducted only in Pen and Paper based examination mode. A candidate will opt for either Pen and Paper based or Computer Based examination mode for Paper 1 only
JEE (Main) 2013 shall have two papers- Paper 1 and Paper 2. Candidates may take Paper 1 or Paper 2, or both as per the course/s they are seeking admission to.
Paper 1 (3 hours duration) would have objective type questions with equal weightage to Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and may be taken either in Pen & Paper based or Computer based mode.
Paper 2 (3 hours duration) would comprise of three parts and would only be Pen and Paper based.
Part I would be Maths (objective type), Part II Aptitude Test would be objective type and Part III would be a Drawing Test with questions to test drawing aptitude.
Candidates applying for B Arch/ B Planning at the institutions other than IITs will have to appear for Paper 2
Candidates applying for all other undergraduate courses would appear for Paper 1
The competitive ARS Exam by the Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB). It comprises of two separate examinations
Preliminary ARS Exam.
ARS Main Examination.
Purpose
Candidates who qualify the ARS Main Exam and viva voce will be recommended for appointment as Scientists in Agricultural Research Services (ARS) of Indian Council of Agricultural Research. Only those candidates who qualify the Preliminary ARS exam will be eligible to appear in the ARS Main Exam
Eligibility
Candidates holding a Master’s Degree or equivalent in the concerned subject with specialization as defined in the relevant Annexure of the notification. A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years but not have attained the age of 32 years as on the date mentioned.
The number of attempts for appearing in the Agricultural Research Service Examination will be limited to
Four for all candidates (whether MSc/PhD) including the in-service candidates of ICAR. However, this restriction will not apply to SC and ST candidates, who are otherwise eligible. An attempt at a Preliminary Examination shall be deemed to be an attempt at the Examination.
Exam pattern
Two separate competitive written examinations followed by Viva-voce shall be conducted as per the following plan of examinations:-
Preliminary-ARS (Objective Type) of 150 marks and 2 hours duration
ARS – Main (Descriptive Type) of 240 marks and 3 hours duration
Viva-voce of 60 marks
ARS – Main Examination Paper will have only one paper of 240 marks to be completed in 3 hours duration. The paper shall be divided in three parts A, B and C. Part
"A" will consists of 40 (forty) questions of 2 (two) marks each. In this part, answers required will be of very short, not exceeding 10 (Ten) words at the most. Part
"B" will have 20 (twenty) questions of 5 (five) marks each requiring one or two paragraphs and/or graphic explanation. All questions in part
"A" and “B" will be compulsory.
Part "C" will have 6 (six) essay type or descriptive type questions which are all compulsory. Each question will carry 10 (ten) marks and may have two or more parts. Answers are required to be written in the space provided below the question. In no case extra sheets will be provided.
The candidates clearing Mains Examination will be called for Viva-voce in the ratio 1:5 subject to minimum 55% are obtained by General / OBC candidates and 50% marks are obtained by SC / ST / PC candidates in ARS Mains Examination (Subjective type).

Age as on October 1, 2012 should be 18-28 years for general category candidates; Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.
Computer literacy: Operating and working knowledge in computer systems is mandatory, i.e. candidates should have Certificate/Diploma/Degree in computer operations/Language/ should have studied Computer / Information Technology as one of the subjects in the High School/College/Institute. Proficiency in the Official Language of the State/UT (candidates should know how to read/ write and speak the Official Language of the State/UT) for which vacancies a candidate wishes to apply is preferable.
Exam pattern
CWE is an online exam of 120 minutes duration (200 marks-200 questions) with five tests each of 40 questions carrying 40 marks including Test of Reasoning, Test of English Language, Test of Numerical Ability, Test of General Awareness with special reference to Banking Industry and Test of Computer Knowledge .The above tests except the Test of English Language will be printed bilingually, i e English and Hindi. There would be penalty for wrong answers marked in the objective type test
There would be five alternatives in every question of a test. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate, one-fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty.

Such students would attend one year of courses (taught in collaboration with IISER-Pune) before joining the IUCAA-NCRA graduate school.

The test will be of 2 hours duration. The question paper will have two parts, A and B. Part A will contain twenty objective-type questions on basic Mathematics, Physics and Electronics. Part B will contain another twenty objective-type questions from advanced Physics, Mathematics and Electronics/Engineering. For a correct answer, there will be +3 (plus three) marks, and for a wrong answer, there will be -1 (minus one) mark.
