Jayanti Ghose is a Career & Education Consultant. Her research in the area of career counselling and guidance spans over three decades. She is the most widely read career counsellor in India through her print and online career guidance columns.
From 1985 through 1990, she pioneered the concept of career counselling in premier schools and colleges all over India. In the 90’s, she popularized career writing in the print media. She is very actively involved in personal and group counselling. Her ongoing research, and intuitive understanding of the subject of education and careers, has enabled her to help thousands of students and mid-career professionals in their search for the best career opportunities. Her ‘Career School for Parents’ encourages parents to actively engage in their children’s future.
Jayanti Ghose has had a long association with The Times of India. She contributed weekly columns and articles on education and careers for two decades in print editions of Education Times across different cities/states, both in-print and online, and offered career guidance via ICICI Careers for close to two decades.
She is the author of many books on education and careers including The UBS Career Guide, How to Plan Your Career, The UBS Encyclopedia of Careers (all with UBSPD), A Handbook of Jobs and Careers (Publications Division, Govt. of India), The HarperCollins Encyclopedia of Careers (HarperCollins Publishers India), Your Counsellor Guides for school leavers and graduates (The Times of India). She writes for various publications including the Manorama Year Book and Without Reserve (an in-house publication of the Reserve Bank of India). Her books and articles have been translated into various regional languages.
She was recognized as the ‘Best Career Counsellor in Education’ at the 18th Business School Affaire & Dewang Mehta Business School Awards by Hindustan Unilever Limited in 2010. She was also awarded the ‘Role Model & Career Specialist Award’ at Asia’s Best B-School Awards in July 2010 at Singapore. In February 2014 she received the ‘Award for Outstanding Contribution to Career Counselling’ at the World Leadership Congress & Awards at Taj Land’s End, Mumbai.
Jayanti Ghose is based in Navi Mumbai and works with school & college students, parents, teachers, mid-career professionals, schools, higher educational institutions, etc. in the areas of career advising, educational and career planning, career change strategies and related fields. She continues to write for various publications and websites.
